As time goes on, our eyelids undergo unintended changes, which makes us look more tired or older. Inherited factors or damage to sun rays can accelerate these changes. Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) has made great progress in recent years.
A tired appearance or swollen eyes may also be caused by the presence of grease-like pockets inside the upper eyelids or under the lower eyelids. This excess skin and fat can be surgically removed by a procedure called blepharoplasty.
After eyelid surgery, you are usually discharged immediately and can return home directly. Cold compresses should be applied around the eyes to eliminate swelling and possible caries. It is also recommended that the head be higher than the body when you sleep (30 degrees inclination). Your eyelids should be protected from light. Therefore it is recommended to wear sunglasses in the first week after surgery.
Stitches in your eyelid are usually taken from 5 to 7 days. At the end of the first month, the tracks are completely past.
